Genuine Srunken Head

Head shrinking was a tribal tradition done after the infamous act of headhunting; a ritual documented throughout history in the northwest of the amazon rainforest. The Jivaroan people of various tribes such as the Shuar, Achuar, Aguaruan, and Huambisa in Ecuador, traditionally shrunk heads known as Tsantsas, these specimens showcase long hair and were only ever done to male headhunted victims. The "trophies" were so heavily sought after by tourists, that cadaver heads became coveted items both doctors, and only the most ghoulish of souls, would attempt to shrink via various methods. Though traditional heads were shrunk using water and hot coals, non-traditional heads were shrunk using boiling water and other shortcut method, producing inferior, yet still highly desired historic antiquities. These "inferior" heads were often done to women, children, and non-warrior men alike.
