Rising in popularity in the 18th through 19th century, the "tooth key" became a symbolic device used to crudely yank a defective tooth from the mouth. A cleverly placed curved claw is found near the bottom, set with a pin to allow for a smooth movement, the claw fits snugly around any sized tooth in need of extraction. This ebony handles tool is not only well used, but is in excellent condition for being so! Carefully mounted to a custom display, this key fits in place snugly to its standing brass and wooden base.
